This teal tankini has the good sense to be ruffled only where ruffling flatters: the flounce at the top announces gaiety, while the high waist below keeps its other opinions to itself. Its tropical print, in greens that suggest a holiday planned with some care, is new and arrives with no history at all, which in swimwear is the most reassuring sort.
The polyester and spandex are accommodating without being indiscreet, a balance one wishes were more common among acquaintances. Its buyer will no doubt explain that she wants it chiefly for reading beside the pool, and the swimsuit, being well bred, will not contradict her. It will merely look very well while she does so.
