AG Adriano Goldschmied Cropped Straight Leg Jeans Butter Yellow NWT Size 4 (27)
These jeans arrive in butter yellow, a colour that announces cheerfulness in advance and then must live up to the claim, which is more than most of us manage before noon. They have never been worn, still carry their tags, and so retain that unblemished confidence of a garment whose reputation has yet to be tested by a single bus seat or café chair.
The cropped, straight leg shows off the ankle without fuss, and the blend of cotton and lyocell, with a little elastane for good measure, gives a softness that suggests denim of agreeable temper. You will no doubt tell yourself that yellow trousers are a bold investment, and you will be right, though only in the sense that every pleasing thing is bold until it has been worn twice.
