This black knit pencil skirt came out of the closet at the speed of a rumor and has not stopped moving since, a BlankNYC Mavis with the tags still dangling off it like a pair of unclaimed baggage stubs, new and untouched and quietly smug about it. It is rayon, nylon and spandex, which means it stretches to meet you, hugs the line from waist to knee with the grip of a bouncer who has made up his mind, and snaps back the instant you stop arguing with it.
I would not call it polite, exactly. Black, bodycon, cut straight as a ruled margin, it walks into a room and the room starts rearranging itself around the hemline, chairs scraping, conversations losing their place. Womens, new with tags, ready to be the sharpest thing in the building.
