These trousers have the look of a garment that expects to be noticed and has taken the trouble to deserve it. Cut in a bootcut that skims the hip and widens gently toward the hem, they are made of polyurethane in a tan that the listing's title calls ivory cream, and which is better described as the colour of good pastry. Being faux leather, they ask nothing of any animal, and being new without tags, they have yet to be disappointed by an evening out.
The buyer will tell herself she requires something sensible for autumn, and the trousers will let her believe it. They are, in truth, rather bolder than sensible, though they behave with such composure that nobody could object.
