New York & Company Linen Pencil Skirt Black Textured NWT Size 8
Black linen has a way of looking like a held breath, and this pencil skirt holds it well. The texture catches the light in small, dry ripples, so that even standing still it seems to be thinking of somewhere to go. It is new with tags, which means it has never yet been caught in a rainstorm or a crowded elevator, and has kept all its promises.
The blend of linen and rayon, with a little spandex for mercy, lets the cloth fall close to the line of the leg without ever clinging. Wear it to a long afternoon of meetings that ends, unexpectedly, in a lit doorway and a better conversation than planned. It is the quiet sort of black, the kind that waits for the evening to arrive and then turns out to have been ready all along.
