These black cargo shorts from Quest were evidently bought with the best intentions, as the tags still attached will testify, and they have so far been spared the indignity of an actual trail. Nylon with a little spandex for tact, they dry quickly after a stream and stretch obligingly when a stile asks more of the knee than fashion ever has.
The cargo pockets can accommodate a walker's optimism about what she might need, while the black forgives whatever she actually carries home. Their resolve is entirely unscuffed, and wants only an owner willing to put it to the test, which is more than most good intentions receive.
