The denim-blue Seafolly Block Party Slide Bikini Top came out of the bag with its tags still attached, which in the secondhand trade is roughly as common as a quiet Saturday at a public pool, and I took it as a sign that something loud was about to happen. A slide top, for the uninitiated, is the kind of triangle that moves the way a good rumor moves, easily and with total confidence, and this one is cut from a polyester and spandex blend that stretches to meet you and snaps back like it has somewhere to be.
I'd call it a small blue flag planted in the middle of a beach full of beige opinions. It is new, unworn, and honest about being a bikini top, which is more than I can say for half the swimwear I've interrogated.
