These corduroy trousers have remained in their tags, which is more self-command than most of us can claim in the presence of a good sale. They are coral pink, a color that announces itself without raising its voice, and the straight leg falls in a line so composed that one suspects it has never once been rushed. The cotton corduroy is given a little spandex, so the pants are accommodating where accommodation is wanted, and the slimming cut does its work quietly, as the best flattery always does.
The buyer will, of course, tell herself that she requires something sensible for autumn, and she will be partly right. Sensible rarely arrives in such a cheerful shade, however, and the pants are new with tags, which means their only history is the one she gives them.
