Talbots Petite Straight Leg Jeans High Waist Medium Wash NWT Size 2P
These jeans have never yet been out after dark, and you can tell by the way the medium blue holds itself, like the sky a few minutes before the first window lights come on. The high waist sits where a waist ought to sit, and the straight leg falls in one clean, unhurried line, cut for petite proportions. The tags are still attached, which means the whole evening is still ahead of them.
Cotton does most of the work here, with a little polyester and spandex hidden in the weave to give when you reach, sit, or hurry toward something. They are the sort of denim that promises ease and keeps the promise. Somewhere in a closet they have been waiting, perfectly pressed by patience, for someone to finally say yes.
