These white jeans have never been worn, a distinction that gives them a certain innocence, though the distressing suggests they would like you to believe otherwise. The cotton, with a little spandex to keep it accommodating, has been artfully frayed and faded to look as though it has seen something of life, when in truth it has been waiting, tags still attached, for its first outing.
The low rise and the flare are the Joey's two firm opinions, and it expresses them without apology. A flare of this kind does not follow you quietly into a room; it arrives a half step ahead and is generally forgiven for it. White denim also demands good judgment of its owner, which is, of course, the very reason people buy it.
